Furnace Repair & Service - Do You Need Our Help?

Some furnace issues will definitely require professional service. All significant furnace repairs require technically advanced training and tools. But, there are some things you can check before you schedule a service visit that may save you time and money:

  • Check the Thermostat:
    • Sometimes it the simple things. Is your thermostat is off? Make sure it's on and set to heat, and the desire temperature above the ambient temperature of the space.
    • Does your thermostat have disposable batteries? Sometimes your thermostats batteries will be dead or on the way out. Change them and start the system again.
  • Power:
    • Is your furnace system switch on? Make sure the system switch is turned on (this is usually a red toggle switch with a red cover-plate)
    • Is the circuit breaker tripped? Check your home's circuit break panel, find the furnace system breaker and make sure this is switched to on
  • Gas Supply:
    • Is gas available to your furnace? Check your natural or LP gas supply to make sure there is fuel available to your furnace.
  • Proper Airflow:
    • Are your grills and registers open? Ensure that both your supply and return air registers are open free of obstructions.
    • Check your furnace air filter! Change your furnace filter and re-start your furnace.

After these checks, if your furnace system still not working properly it's time to give us a call. We'll send out one of our certified heating technicians to give your furnace a comprehensive service and repair check.
